A Message From the principal
Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,
The school year is galloping along and we are almost at the mid-term break. Your children are well settled in to the new year by now. While teaching and learning are our priority here in Scoil Mhuire we always have room for some fun and for some opportunities for your children to develop their personalities in a holistic way. Sixth Classes showed great organisational and entrepreneurial skills with our Bake Sale for Temple Street Children's Hospital. A grand total of €450 euro was raised for this great cause. A huge thanks to all of the 'Whitechurch Bakers' and to those who contributed.
Traditionally, the children of Scoil Mhuire dress up for Halloween on the day before the holidays. We are combining this with our annual sponsored walk for school funds. The older children will go on the 'Scoil Mhuire Spooky Sponsored Walk' to St. Enda's Park while the younger classes will stay more local! This of course is all weather permitting. We have given a sponsor card to each family and we are most grateful to you for any contributions that you make . All funds raised will go towards new resources and equipment for the school. There will be a raffle for all cards returned. There is also a school pumpkin display and the spooky pumpkins are making their way to the foyer this week. We hope to have photos on the website in the coming days.
Junior Infants will have their 'Halloween Concert' on Thursday at 1pm. We will hold this in the Stage Hall in the Junior Building and look forward to seeing the families of the Junior Infants there.
The school photographer is coming to take the photos of all classes on Tuesday 5th November. Permission slips to follow.
Many thanks to you all for a great half-term.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Máire
