A Message From the principal
Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff of Scoil Mhuire,
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you all back to a new school year. I hope you had a restful and happy summer filled with good memories. (Despite the uncooperative
weather!) All classes are back for a full day tomorrow, except for Junior Infants.
There have been some changes to our team for the coming year. As you are aware, two of the great stalwarts of Scoil Mhuire have recently retired and we wish Siobhán Murphy and
Angela David a happy and healthy retirement. We congratulate Clare O'Mahony on her appointment as Deputy Principal. Ms. O'Gorman, Ms. Holton and Ms. Melia are joining our staff this year and four members of staff are coming back from job-sharing arrangements to full-time positions. We are very fortunate, given the current climate to have a full staff in Scoil
Mhuire.
We also welcome our new students who have joined various classes throughout the school, for the coming year. I know they will be made feel very welcome. A special welcome to our
new Junior Infants and best wishes to Ms. Walsh and Amanda as they steer the Junior Infant ship!
During the summer we have had some new emergency and classroom doors installed in the Junior Building, windows replaced in the hall of the Senior Building and new signage put up
around the school. We continue to make improvements to our school environment as our children deserve the best. The Parents' Association held a Uniform Sale and some second-
hand uniforms are still available at bargain prices from the Parents' Room.
Our annual administration cost this year is €80 per child and this can be paid through Aladdin Payments or money can be given to Louise in the office.
I wish you a fantastic year ahead and thank you for your continued support.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Máire

Sport in scoil mhuire
Our athletes from 5th and 6th class competed in the Cumann na mBunscol Athletics event in Santry on Friday 24th May. Congratulations to John Mongan who won a silver medal in the boys U14 Shot Putt.
We are very proud of our 1st Camogie team in Scoil Mhuire. The girls from 5th, 4th and 3rd have been training so hard with their coaches, Ms. Crosbie, Ms. Lambert and Mel! They played their first ever game against Gaelscoil Inse Cóir on Wednesday 17th April in Frank Kelly Park. Thank you to Ballyboden Wanderers for letting us use the pitch and for the lovely treats after the game! They will play their second game on Wednesday 24th April at 1.30.
Well done to our Football team and their coach, Jake. The boys are playing in the FAI schools league this year.
Bhíomar ag ceiliúradh ár Seachtain na Gaeilge anseo sa scoil ó 11-15 Márta.
